While dry ice (CO2) can maintain frozen and deep-frozen temperatures for a long time, it sublimates into carbon dioxide (CO2) gas as it melts, meaning it can only be used once. The Deep Freeze Gel Ice Pack, on the other hand, can be reused up to 300 times.
